CEU Course Description

One of the major goals of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is to strengthen substance use prevention by continuing to assist in its professionalization. To achieve the aforementioned goal, SAMHSA has developed the Prevention Core Competencies guide to help health care professionals build and strengthen core competencies so they can effectively work to improve upon patient care and patient outcomes. This course reviews SAMHSA's Prevention Core Competencies guide to provide health care professionals with insight into the recommended knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to effectively strengthen substance use prevention and related care.
