CEU Course Description
Nurses are caring for more children with mental health diagnoses. Mental health disorders in the pediatric population can present in unique ways. Nurses caring for these patients must recognize what mental health disorders are present in the pediatric population and which patients are most at risk. In this course, nurses will learn to recognize these concepts, describe screening tools and current treatments, and understand health implications. This course will review appropriate nursing interventions to promote optimal health and further the nurse’s knowledge of mental health concepts in the pediatric population.

- Recognize various pediatric mental health disorders and who is at risk
- Describe screening tools and current treatments for pediatric mental health disorders
- Understand the implications pediatric mood disorders have on children’s health
- Review appropriate nursing interventions to promote optimal health
