CEU Course Description

While uncommon, hyperemesis gravidarum significantly impacts the lives of women who experience this extreme state of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. The consequences of poorly controlled hyperemesis gravidarum can be substantial for the patient and her offspring. Recent research has identified potential factors that may influence the incidence and severity of hyperemesis gravidarum. This course will define hyperemesis gravidarum, review risk factors and diagnostic methods associated with the condition, and outline treatment options and nursing interventions that promote improved outcomes.
