This course discusses how the “marriage” of Eastern meditative practices and Western psychotherapeutic illuminates human suffering and offers paths to healing and transformation using a complementary blend of both modalities.

CEU Course Objectives

1. Compare and contrast various Western psychotherapeutic and Eastern meditative traditions.

2. Discuss the advantages of practicing therapy and meditation together.

3. Describe how meditation deepens psychoanalytic listening, and how psychoanalytic perspectives aid therapist and clients in understanding troubling thoughts, feelings, and behavior.

4. Identify the dimensions of meditative psychoanalysis.
