CE Course Overview

This course is intended to help employers of healthcare and social services workers establish effective workplace violence prevention programs adapted to their specific worksites. It offers guidelines based on National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) standards that address preventing violence inflicted by patients or clients against staff. It also covers resources available to support design and implementation of such a program.

CE Course Objectives

1. Be able to design an effective workplace violence prevention program based on OSHA guidelines.

2. Be prepared to implement or support the implementation of a program.

3. Be able to evaluate a program currently in use and determine if it needs additional elements in order to do the most possible to prevent violence towards employees.

4. Be aware of resources available to help you design, evaluate and implement a workplace violence prevention program.
