CE Course Description

This course is intended to provide in general medical settings the screening tools and procedures necessary to conduct screening, brief intervention, and/or treatment referral for patients who may have or be at risk of developing a substance use disorder.

CE Course Objectives

1. Be able to quickly and efficiently screen patients for use of illicit drugs and/or abuse of licit drugs.

2. Accurately determine a patient's level of risk for having or developing a substance use disorder.

3. Be able to design a brief intervention based on the risk level determined for the patient.
