CEU Course Description

This CEU course provides practitioners with information on harm reduction - an approach to managing alcohol use, drug use, and other risky behaviors.  Topics discussed include: the client as the change agent; substance use and harm reduction; harm reduction in practice; and adapted clinical guidelines for opioid use disorder.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain the principles of harm reduction practice.

2.  Investigate the evidence-based, feasible, and cost-effective ways of mitigating health risks associated with drug use and other high-risk behaviors.

3.  Describe what the practice of harm reduction promotes for the client.
