Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an irreversible, progressive brain disease.  This CEU course includes methods for reaching the goals of preventing and effectively treating Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, enhancing care quality and efficiency, expanding supports for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their families, enhancing public awareness and engagement, and improving data to track progress.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Enumerate which lifestyle and dietary changes may benefit cognitive performance in some areas for adults with normal cognition.

2.  Explain what training related to quality dementia care should enhance for the health care provider.

3.  Investigate for which racial / ethnic group researchers have found an increased genetic risk for AD.

4.  Examine what high-quality and efficient care often depends on.

5.  Elucidate the top six most common conditions associated with potentially avoidable hospitalizations among nursing facility residents.

6.  Identify the autoimmune disease-linked genetic alteration that has been found to increase AD risk.
