CEU Course Description
This course was developed from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services booklet which is for those who provide in-home care for people with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders. The goal being to improve home safety by identifying potential problems in the home and offering possible solutions to help prevent accidents.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Identify the lost senses that people with Alzheimer’s can have.
2. Understand the hazards that may pose a problem when living with and caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
3. Become familiar with the differences between hallucinations, illusions, and delusions.
4. Review important safety guidelines, such as where the water heater temperature should be set and the color the walls should be painted.
