CEU Course Description

This course was developed from the National Institutes of Health booklet which is meant to help people with LBD, their families, and professionals learn more about the disease and resources for coping.  It explains what is known about the different types of LBD and how they are diagnosed.  Most importantly, it describes how to treat and manage this difficult disease with practical advice for both people with LBD and their caregivers.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Review which portion of the brain is responsible for different functions.

2.  Become familiar with the difference between dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s disease dementia.

3.  Appreciate the percentage of those with LBD that have visual hallucinations.

4.  Identify signs of stress in a child who is coping with a loved one having LBD.
