Child abuse and neglect is a serious public health issue with far-reaching consequences for the youngest and most vulnerable members of society.  This CEU course provides strategies that focus on preventing child abuse and neglect from happening in the first place as well as approaches to lessen the immediate and long-term harms of child abuse and neglect.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Enumerate the risk factors for perpetration.

2.  Investigate the policies that tend to have the largest impacts on health.

3.  Examine the social norm that is particularly relevant to preventing child abuse and neglect.

4.  Describe the key parameters that data collection should adhere to in order to collect the most accurate information on the magnitude of child abuse and neglect and on the impact of implemented programs, practices, and policies.
