CE Course Description
Although US laws and policies forbid discrimination based on race and ethnicity, institutional policies and practices can still fuel, magnify, and perpetuate existing inequities - even if an organization or agency applies its policies and practices equally without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, or other demographic difference. This CE course summarizes existing research on racial and ethnic disparities in access, services and treatment, and outcomes within human services programs and offers a conceptual framework for distinguishing racial and ethnic “disparities” from “differences.”
