CEU Course Description

Mental health issues in our communities, particularly for youth, are complex and challenging.  This CEU course provides information regarding mental health and mental illness and how communities can improve prevention of mental illnesses, promotion of mental health, public education and awareness, early identification, treatment, crisis response, and recovery supports available.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain how Adverse Childhood Experiences relate to overall health during adulthood.

2.  Investigate the consequences of delays in receiving treatment after the first onset of symptoms of schizophrenia or psychosis.

3.  Identify the top reason that people with unmet needs reported for not seeking treatment.

4.  Describe how cognitive behavioral therapy can help people in their daily lives.
