CEU Course Description
This course was developed from the Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance 2012 publication which presents statistics and trends for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the United States through 2012, and summarizes data on the three notifiable disease for which there are federally funded control programs: chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Identify the rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis as reported to the CDC.
2. Be aware of the treatments currently recommended by the CDC for each STD.
3. Review which sexual orientation and ethnic groups have the highest risk of transference for each STD.
4. Examine the lasting effects of each STD discussed.
