CEU Course Description

This course was developed from the National Institute on Aging and National Institutes of Health booklet which is meant to help people with frontotemporal disorders, their families, and caregivers learn more about these conditions and resources for coping.  It explains what is known about the different types of disorders and how they are diagnosed.  Most importantly, it describes how to treat and manage these difficult conditions, with practical advice for caregivers.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Review which portion of the brain is responsible for different functions.

2.  Become familiar with the symptoms commonly seen in logopenic PPA.

3.  Appreciate what percentage of people inherit frontotemporal disorders and which genes hold the most common mutations.

4.  Identify which disorder apathy is most commonly confused with.
