CEU Course Description

Youth violence is a significant public health problem that affects thousands of young people each day, and in turn, their families, schools, and communities.  This CEU course includes programs, practices, and policies with evidence of impact on youth violence victimization, perpetration, and risk or protective factors for youth violence.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain potential outcomes of preschool enrichment with family engagement.

2.  Investigate ways of modifying the physical and social environment.

3.  Examine how young people’s risk for violence can be buffered.

4.  Identify which factors are associated with the future perpetration of violence and is evident in early childhood.

5.  Describe the family environments that is a risk factor for youth violence and contributes to young people developing other risks.
