CEU Course Description

This CEU course provides health care workers with information on hepatitis C, focusing on the following topics: epidemiology such as prevalence and shifting demographics; morbidity and mortality; HCV testing strategies; risk factors; counseling patients with hepatitis C; prevention; treatment and barriers to treatment; and interferon-free therapy.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Investigate the recommendations and guidelines from the CDC and other researchers in relation to testing, treatment, and counseling for those that are or may be infected with the hepatitis C virus.

2.  Elucidate the populations that are disproportionately affected by viral hepatitis.

3.  Describe how most people become infected with HCV.
