CEU Course Description

This CEU course focuses on how mass violence affects the behavioral health of adult and young survivors or witnesses of a mass violence incident.  The phases of response experienced by survivors, as well as immediate and long-term reactions and interventions, are discussed.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain how adolescents are helped by playing an active role in the relief effort.

2.  Examine the wide range of reactions that can be caused by mass violence and the factors that they depend on.

3.  Elucidate the first level of intervention in children.

4.  Identify those that are often least resilient.

5.  Describe the consequences that psychological debriefing may cause.
