This course highlights key issues that impact risks for HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and viral hepatitis among Native gay men and Two Spirit people. It also presents recommendations for state and local health departments to effectively collaborate with Tribal communities, Native agencies, and Native gay men and Two Spirit people to address these risks.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Discuss the role of illicit drug use in the American Indians and Alaska Native people compared to other races and ethnicities in the United States.
2. Examine the case study goals relating to the health, health care, STD screening, and cultural beliefs of the Native communities in several states.
3. Explain the tools used as better ways to describe the impact of HIV/AIDS on Native gay men and Two Spirit gatherings.
