CEU Course Description

Research presented by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) suggests that the prevalence of co-occurring disorders (CODs) is on the rise thought the U.S. As a result, health care professionals should understand how to safely and effectively screen, assess, diagnose, and manage the treatment of individuals suffering from CODs in order to optimize patient care. This course reviews SAMHSA's COD-related Advisory to provide health care professionals with the necessary insight to safely and effectively screen, assess, diagnose, and manage the treatment of individuals suffering from CODs so they may work to optimize patient care within their health care facilities.
