CE Course Description

This short CE course on HIV and Special Populations is an update from the Center for Disease Control and addresses new data related to special populations in the United States.

CE Course Objectives

1. Discuss the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the United States, including estimates by risk groups and race/ethnicity. 

2. Describe the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latino and Black/African American communities as well as prevention and treatment challenges that face these populations.

3. Summarize the impact of HIV among transgender people in the United States.

4. Identify steps that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is taking to maximize the effectiveness of current HIV prevention among special populations.
