CEU Course Description

This course provides strategies that organizations can use to help introduce Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, African Americans, Latinos and Hispanics, American Indians, and Alaska Natives to the new health insurance options.  Examples are provided from organizations that have successfully used these strategies.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Discuss the best strategies for engaging each of the different communities in the healthcare of themselves and their families.

2.  Explain why the hours available to meet with patients is significant.

3.  Investigate the importance of staff reflecting the population they are working with and which aspects are most influential.

4.  Examine the impact of getting feedback from the community and how this can be used to reach and engage more individuals.
