CEU Course Description

This CEU course provides recommendations for the identification and management of foodborne illness outbreaks among prison populations and for the assessment and nutritional augmentation of inmates who are in a malnourished state.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Enumerate factors that may contribute to a decline in nutritional status.

2.  Explain what should be done for inmate workers during a foodborne illness outbreak.

3.  Investigate what has been identified as an important underlying factor that increases risk for malnutrition.

4.  Examine which characteristics diagnosis of adult malnutrition should be based on.

5.  Identify for which illness a specific disinfectant is required.

6.  Provide the goal of intervention in cases of adult malnutrition.
