This manual was put together by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and provides an in depth look at current treatment guidelines and recommendations for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
CE Course Objectives
1. Identify treatment methods and diagnostic recommendations for various sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
2. Describe the five major strategies for the prevention and control of STDs.
3. Evaluate factors that affect special populations with STDs including pregnant women, young people, those in correctional facilities, and same sex partners.
4. Discuss specific considerations for diseases characterized by genital, anal, or perianal ulcers, by urethritis and cervicitis, and by vaginal discharge.
5. Examine diagnostic considerations and treatment approaches for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection, genital warts, and Hepatitis A, B, and C.
