CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain the characteristics of the most addictive substances.

2.  Investigate an acceptable alternative for opiate detoxification that should be considered if the institution does not have a methadone license or when otherwise medically indicated.

3.  Identify what all inmates with suspected alcohol use disorder should be treated with.

4.  Describe the proper administration of phenobarbital for barbiturate withdrawal treatment.
