CEU Course Description
This CEU course summarizes recommendations on the following topics: which youths have benefitted from reforms over the past 10 years; legislation and state budgets funding deeper reforms; successful placement policies that bring youth close to home; successful supervision strategies; and ways jurisdictions can incorporate youth, families, and communities into their reform.
Knowledge and consent by NCCD should be obtained prior to any assessment tool learned from this course being used.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Enumerate the legislation containing goals that would help states reduce their use of state secure facilities.
2. Investigate the steps that systems should take to build stronger local continuums.
3. Describe the characteristics that are common among young people that are incarcerated.
