CEU Course Description

This CEU course identifies girls’ reasons for joining gangs, their experiences and activities related to gang involvement, and their motivations and strategies for transitioning away from gangs.  Also provided are recommendations for those who are interested in improving outcomes for gang-involved girls.

Knowledge and consent by NCCD should be obtained prior to any assessment tool learned from this course being used.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Discuss what emerged as a critical factor in shaping participants’ gang involvement.

2.  Investigate the type of gang affiliation that the majority of participants identified themselves as.

3.  Examine the most common activity the girls engaged in as part of their gang.
