Course Description:
This course covers the most recent treatment modalities used in addiction counseling: Dual Disorders Recovery Counseling, the CENAPS Model of Relapse Prevention Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and many others. Discusses how to identify and assess a clients suitability for a particular treatment program.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:
1) Compare and contrast the various treatment models covered in this text
2) Discuss the role of Self-Help programs within each treatment model
3) Explain a typical group session format and content for the various treatment models
4) Identify and assess client suitability for each treatment program discussed
