CEU Course Description

This CE course provides insight for health care professionals on understanding and treating tuberculosis.  Included in the topics of focus: background information about the disease; detecting TB infections; treating latent TB vs. active TB disease; and proven methods on how to reduce the excess burden of the disease.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Explain what a positive reaction to the PPD test indicates and what actions should follow these test results.

2.  Investigate the factors that favor TB transmission.

3.  Examine how TB bacteria are spread from person to person.

4.  Describe how, by law, TB differs from other diseases.
