CEU Course Description

This CE course provides health care workers with information on compassion fatigue, focusing on the following topics: understanding stress; extinguishing job burnout; respect, support, and recognition from management; vicarious trauma warning signs; views of the work environment; creative strategies to improve the work environment; philosophies of caring; how to care for yourself first; and the essential skill of mindfulness.

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Enumerate the outcomes that have been shown to be strongly associated with job burnout.

2.  Investigate one of the main, preventable reasons that employees leave their jobs.

3.  Examine the clues that a health care worker is under too much stress.
