CE Course Description
Includes 3 hrs. of Legal and Ethical Issues. This course was developed using the book, A Multidisciplinary Handbook of Child and Adolescent Mental Health for Front-line Professionals, to provide an accessible introduction to child and mental health, covering the nature, prevalence, treatment and management of mental health problems in children and young people. The material explores issues such as assessing and meeting the needs of young people, legal aspects of working with child mental health, as well as material on culture and diversity and an update on current medication.
The course is appropriate for students, trainers, and professionals working with young people with mental health problems in a medical and non-medical environment. It also includes pertinent case studies that demonstrate the issues facing children with mental health issues and strategies for the professionals who work with them.
